Thankful for 2 Years of Great Business, The Crazy Ups and Downs…

On Nov. 1st of this year, HeartFire Media, LLC. celebrated its second year in business. It has been quite the wild ride, but equally, quite the blessing. There were many ups and downs (as one could imagine), but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

For those of you who don’t know, in my past life, I owned an entirely different company.

I started with a different brand, different clients, different ball game. Things didn’t work out, but in the end, it all worked out for the better. My business partners and I had completely different visions and ambitions at the time things fell apart; which was heartbreaking. I literally felt like I was going through a divorce. How could something that I put my entire heart into go wrong? At the time I thought my first company was going to be the end all success story and that our partnership would last forever. I was wrong. However, I learned so much from that experience, that it pushed me to move forward. But, it wasn’t easy…

After many tears and consults with mentors, I left my baby (first business) because I knew I deserved better and I knew I was still destined for greatness. I sold my ownership and was left thinking, “What in the world am I going to do now? Do I start a new business? Will my clients come with me? I don’t want to start over!!” But, by the grace of God, within two weeks after I left, I was approached by my new business partner — who had full faith in my capabilities to build a successful business — and the rest was history! I was able to continue building one of the best creative media companies in San Antonio and, perhaps, eventually, in the world.

HeartFire Media started in Nov. 2012. I found out I was pregnant by end of the following February. My entire first year in business I was pregnant. That was interesting to say the least. I had to gain new clients, market a new brand, establish a new office, and hundreds of other duties that go into starting a new business, in a nine month (baby countdown-esque) timeline. Can you say CRAZY?! Yes, it was crazy and I was on fire! For some reason, my pregnancy hormones had me supercharged. I transformed into a highly efficient machine, cranking out projects left and right. HAHA! In hindsight, I don’t know how I did it. But I did.

Beginning of year two? Even more crazy. I had my darling Ava Grace on Oct. 26, 2013 and took a whopping six weeks off before getting back to business. Learning to be a new mom and balancing work was quite the challenge — my personal life wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine either. Being a single mother is no joke. Luckily, I have clients who believe in me and continue to call and refer others for their creative marketing needs.

This year, I really focused on marketing my own business with a strategy that included producing a testimonial video with my current clients, getting a new website, investing in SEO, Blogging/Email Blasting, and producing strategic videos that would go viral. Every single one of these strategies was accomplished over the course of the year. Was it easy?

No.

Worth it?

Yes.

More importantly, I got to practice what I preach to many people about marketing- have a strategic plan and execute over the year.

Amazingly enough. It was crazy enough to work . Heartfire Media  was blessed to receive an Addy Award by the American Advertising Association of San Antonio. In addition, were voted ‘Best Start Up Company’ by the San Antonio Current. That was more than I could have ever imagined. Although there were many heartaches, tears, and probably some blood in there somewhere, I am extremely thankful for all the craziness that comes with running a business. It is not just a privilege but an honor to help people bring their visions’ to life. I get to live out my dream every day. I am blessed with the opportunity to share my passion for creativity with others. I can only hope to bless others through my own abundant blessings.

If you are still reading this, I would like to THANK YOU. Thank you for taking the time to read this and believing in my dream. Because of you who do believe in me, not only am I able to provide for my family, I am able to provide numerous videographers, editors, graphic designers, web developers, marketing professionals, and do what many say is impossible – create more jobs. That is the greatest gift I can give to others.

There is so much to thankful for this year with Heartfire Media, my life and my family…and even for you.  Post your year end comments on this page. We would like to feature the best five in our next email blast. And don’t forget, if you want the best of us, give us the best of you….subscribe!
