Andrew M. Anguiano is an award-winning, results producing, marketing and communications professional. He is also an entrepreneur and community advocate who provides the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce with a diverse skill set and proven experienced leadership. He serves as the first Vice-President of Economic Development in the South Chamber’s history. Andrew has the responsibility of organizing, managing and directing the chamber’s economic development strategies and programs. Additionally, he serves as the interim Executive Director of Southside First Economic Development Council. The 15 member non-profit council is under development and will serve as a Think Tank/Bridge Builder for economic progress in South Bexar County.
For 10 years, Andrew owned Drew Advertising, a local marketing firm that in 2014 led his team to five Public Relations Society of America – SA awards for their work with Alamo Beer Company and Harlandale Independent School District. His marketing career spanned 15 years and his portfolio includes Dell Computers, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Boeing Corporation, Big Red soda, amongst many others. Additionally, his legacy can still be seen with the rebranding of the City of Leon Valley, the interior design of the Toyota Visitor Center and “Talk About It” the City of San Antonio’s/San Antonio Area Foundation’s continued Spay/Neuter initiative.
Having grown up on the city’s Southside to activist parents, he grew a passion for community service. A 1995 Harlandale HS graduate and a life-long member of Mission San Jose Church, Andrew has dedicated his life to South San Antonio. His service includes stints with the San Antonio Cultural Arts Board, Zoning Commission, and the boards of the Neighborhood Resource Center and the South Chamber. He currently serves as a co-chair for San Jose MissionFest and is on the Board of Directors of the Port of San Antonio. Anguiano still does marketing consulting and freelance graphic design work for select clients.
