Brad Mayhar has been the public relations manager for The Salvation Army San Antonio Area Command since Nov. 2013.
He loves his job because he says each day is different, and he knows that the work he does (at least indirectly) plays a role in helping others. Brad says his favorite part of his job is helping local media gather information for their stories and introducing new people to the work of The Salvation Army.
Brad began his career while in college as a full-time newspaper reporter for The Lufkin Daily News, at the same time he was attending classes full-time at Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin State University. His previous jobs have included working at City Year, and at a congressional office. Brad enjoys non-profit work the most. He also has his own company, Floating Feather Productions, which allows him to occasionally use his PR skills in contract jobs.
Despite his passion for his work, Brad loves time with his family the most. He and his wife, Maria have three children, Antonio, Izabella and Sofia. Thank you, Brad for your wonderful advocacy for The Salvation Army. Keep being that great, fun guy we all love!
