Irene Chavez is an activist, writer, and small business advocate. She is the President of La Maestra Consulting and is also the San Antonio Organizer for Fuck Up Nights San Antonio.
A graduate of St. Mary’s University, Irene Chavez has made a career of working with entrepreneurs at all stages of development. Her specialty is helping entrepreneurs navigate the procurement process, leverage certifications and manage their resources. Her expertise allows easy collaboration to bring resources and the support they need to be successful.
Irene has served in executive leadership positions including with the Maestro Entrepreneur Center, City of San Antonio Economic Development Office, University Health System and UTSA. She has led teams and served as a small business liaison to continually empower small, minority and women-owned businesses. Irene enjoys developing programming, presenting to groups, and facilitating workshops. She’s been honored as of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars and the North Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Young Professional Leadership Award. Irene is also a recent graduate of the Inaugural Latina Leadership Program hosted by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber.
